York Open Studios Goes Virtual!

Today many York artists would have been taking part in York Open Studio. Sadly we aren’t! We all know why…
So instead we are having a virtual YOS tour. This is my post for today. Why do I take part in YOS? I hope other YOS artists share their posts and spread the love and the joy of art. It’s great for our community but also for your mental wellbeing. It’s free and accessible – enjoy seeing what we all do – follow us York Open Studios #yorkopenstudios #strongertogether #staysafe

Here’s my post;

York Open Studios 2020 virtual tour DAY 2
Why do I take part in YOS?
There are lots of reasons. Firstly, its about the community, artists supporting artists. I would have hosted 3 other artists at my studio over the two weekends. Rose and Hen, a print maker, Danny Knight a Photographer and Jill Ford, a ceramicist. Being together to jointly promote artists in York is a wonderful opportunity and great fun!!
Secondly, it’s a fabulous opportunity to review what I do, talk to people about my process and get feedback. Occasionally you get a sale too!! Visitors are genuinely interested, they wouldn’t come otherwise.
Finally, as a business and an artist its just lovely to be acknowledged as being good enough to join this wonderful band of artists, many of whom I have admired for some time!
